Logistica specialise in the Health and Social Care Sector and hence our courses reflect this. All courses are fully funded by the European Social Fund across Solent, Swindon and Wiltshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lancashire LEP regions.

To be eligible for training, staff must be aged 19 and over, and employed by a company with less than 250 employees.

All delivery of training is at the employer’s premises to minimise disruption, and is usually completed in small groups of four employees at a time. In this way staff can interact with each other and learn in an effective way. This is supported by our trainers assessing staff competence by observing them in the workplace, and by truly flexible learning materials.

 

The majority of our courses are completed within three months, with full Diplomas taking approximately five months to achieve.

ABOUT

Logistica Training Limited was set up purely to deliver Skills Support for the Workforce contracts around England.

All Skills Support for the Workforce courses are fully funded by the European Social fund and take place across Solent, Swindon and Wiltshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lancashire LEP regions.

The directors, managers, and all staff have considerable expertise in this field and saw an opportunity to deliver high quality training in a niche market where, at the time, there were considerable gaps in the market place.

Logistica deliver high quality training in a manner that adds value to the employer, enthuses and motivates the learner and our staff feel valued and respected. 

We believe that with our continued repeat business from employers, high achievement rates, excellent employer and learner feedback and low staff turnover, we have gone a long way towards achieving our goals. 

Logistica specialises only in the health and social care sector since we can then tailor our delivery to specific employer and learner needs delivering a wide variety of courses from Level 1 through to Level 3. 

THE TEAM

Diane Woodhall

Diane started her working life as a patisserie chef, progressing to an assessor and internal verifier in the catering sector in the 1990s. She has since held senior management positions with large national training organisations as National Curriculum Manager and Continuous Improvement Manager. Since 2013, Diane has specialised in delivering training to the Health and Social Care Sector. Her success here has led to thousands of learners achieving qualifications, and hundreds of small employers being able to demonstrate continuous professional development  for staff in CQC reports. These achievements have been recognised in Ofsted reports over the years. Diane is currently studying to be a qualified External Verifier.

Managing Director

Julie Latham

Julie began her working career in the Retail sector managing operations within various branches for a supermarket chain for over 10 years. She enjoyed the staff training and development aspect of her role and took a leap into the Education sector to train as an Assessor and Internal Verifier. Over the next 5 years she managed Apprenticeship Programmes in Business Administration, Customer Service and I.T for Sheffield Trainers Ltd (STL).  

 

In 2004 Julie moved to Future-Wize as Associate Director and Operationally managed all Apprenticeship programmes for ILM Management, Admin, Accounting, Customer Service, IT, and Legal Administration offering the first Apprenticeships with ILEX qualifications to the Legal Sector. The business was awarded a Grade 2 Ofsted result and compliance results under 0.3% for it's Direct SFA contracts under Julie’s leadership.

 

In 2013 Julie took a short break to start a family and returned to the Education sector in 2014 as Operations Manager for Training Futures managing Health & Social Care Apprenticeship programmes to secure a Grade 2 Ofsted result in 2015 and SFA audit and compliance results under 0.3%. These results promoted the business, securing its sale in 2016. 

 

Julie had over 25 years operational management experience when she joined Logistica Training in 2017supporing the creation and significant growth of the new business across 11 geographical regions to the Health and Social Care and Hospitality Sectors.

Paul Seabridge

Paul Seabridge has two decades experience in business, a global entrepreneur, published author and business investor. Paul runs a Mergers, Acquisitions and private equity firm Saalbach Equities. His skills are in growing and scaling businesses, and takes a strategic role in the future growth of Logistica .

HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE TRAINING

 

The units and qualifications that we specialise in delivering are as follows:

Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adults) for England Level 2

This qualification assesses the development of knowledge and skills relating to the health and social care sector. It is made up of 100% vocational units and is able to confirm your competency as part of your CPD within your current job role in areas such as: Mental Health, Dementia, Learning Disabilities and general Health Care.

Diploma in Team Leading 

 Level 2

This qualification has been designed for those who have responsibility for the work of others as a
team leader. It is suitable if you are entering a management role or your progression aim is a career in management and leadership. You will have the ability and the opportunity to demonstrate
recognisable management and leadership skills, for example, providing leadership for a team,
encouraging innovation, allocating and checking work.

Diploma in Business Administration

Level 2

This qualification has been developed to recognise the learners’ skills, knowledge and overall
performance within administrative functions and activities.
It accredits learners' abilities to understand and carry out a range of administrative tasks and has been designed to accredit their achievements in a modern, practical way that is relevant to the work context and aids career progression.

Nutrition and Health

 Level 2 QCF

The Department of Health policy on reducing obesity and improving diet notes that over 60% of adults and 30% of children are overweight or obese. Health problems associated with this cost the NHS over £5 billion per year.  

 

 This qualification is ideal for learners who are interested in improving their understanding of nutrition and diet, their role in improving and maintaining health and well being, and how attitudes toward food can influence and impact on well being.

Safe Handling of Medications

Level 2 QCF

This qualification is designed for learners wishing to develop their understanding of the safe handling of medicines.

 

Aims are to develop:      
· A general understanding of different types of medication and their use  
·  Knowledge of the procedures for obtaining, storing, administering and disposing of medication  
· An understanding of legislation and the audit process related to medication and issues of responsibility and accountability ·   
· An understanding of the record keeping process for medication.  

Dementia Awareness

Level 2 QCF

Currently 700,000 people in the UK have dementia and this figure is expected to double over the next few decades. This qualification in Dementia Care will help you to understand and therefore improve health and care services supporting individuals diagnosed with dementia.   

Diploma in Customer Service  

 Level 2

This qualification is to recognise learners' achievements within the customer service environment. It is also for learners whose job role requires them to deliver continually improving service to customers.


This qualification can also be used by learners who may not regard customer service as their primary
responsibility, but recognise that customer service competencies are essential to complement their
technical skills and job role.

Diploma in Housekeeping

 Level 2

This qualification is designed for people employed in roles such as a Housekeeper, Domestic or
Chamber Maid. This is a work-based, competency based qualification, which will allow learners to
develop knowledge, understanding and skills essential for working in a housekeeping environment.

Infection Control

Level 2 QCF

This qualification aims to help learners to understand: 
 

·  The meaning and importance of infection control

· The causes of infections, the conditions in which they thrive and the ways that they can be spread

· Methods used to prevent and control the spread of infection. 

Mental Health

Level 2 QCF

This qualification aims to raise awareness of mental health and the wide range of mental health conditions.  You will explore the social context of mental illness and how this is seen within the general public and the media.  You will also explore the physical and emotional effects of a variety of mental health illnesses and the impact his can have on family and friends.  Throughout the course you will develop an understanding of different signs and symptoms that a person with mental health illnesses may present, and the range of support networks that are available to support people with mental health issues. 

Cleaning Principles

 Level 2 QCF

This course aims  to provide learners with a range of underpinning knowledge in both generic and specialist cleaning principles. To meet the needs of learners who work or want to work in the cleaning sector.  

Equality and Diversity

Level 2 QCF

This qualification addresses new legislation in this area, reinforcing the importance of equality and diversity within different contexts and ensuring that all learners gain an understanding of the different issues affecting equality and diversity in today’s society, the community and the workplace.
